Mathematics
When it comes to learning about mental health issues in Canada, students will need an understanding of statistical analysis. They will be presented with information in the form of graphs, and be required to analyze statistics and graphs in their own research. When students design and implement their fundraiser, they’ll be required to draw on their prior knowledge of number sense and mathematics to budget and even maintain their own cash drawers. Although this is not in the grade eight program of studies, it is a valuable skill that pertains the their mathematical knowledge.
